A 'meal to die for' from Chef Helena Puolakka at Skylon as Southbank celebrates Festival for the Living

“The Ultimate Equalizer, The Grim Reaper, The Blessed Release; one thing is certain – we all have death in common … “ At the end of January, Skylon restaurant joins in with the celebrations ‘Death: Southbank Centre’s Festival for the Living’ by serving a tasting menu ‘to die for’. Executive Chef Helena Puolakka’s final meal is a culmination of extravagant and luxury ingredients matched with fine wines, certainly creating a meal to die for –

Lobster – butter poached with salad, quinoa and maple syrup vinaigrette

Caviar – warm buckwheat blini and traditional trimmings

Foie Gras – port wine poached, squash and beetroot mosaic

Salmon – warm smoked, pickled cucumber, mousseline sauce

Granite

Lamb – with swiss chard grain and griotte marmalade

Cheese – vacherin mont d’or

Heavenly Cloud Dessert – the very final offering …
